Well, I feel like if I don't post bad reviews, then I'm not very genuine so I want to make sure people know I'm providing honest information on this site. I really tried to read this book and it just didn't go anywhere. I reviewed it on Amazon and here is what I said then:
Jason C.2.0 out of 5 stars not much adventure here, maybe move to book two? Reviewed in the United States on November 13, 2014 I had to force myself to finish this book. Boring. If you read fantasy novels for excitement and adventure, don't read this book. It is extremely slow. The only saving grace is the main character who I'm assuming will be greater developed, but I wont be reading the next one.
Update 7-19-16 Honestly I feel bad about giving this book a bad review, but I read ALOT of fantasy literature. Even studied it in college. I know the writer works hard and has to build up a scenario for his characters for following books, but this one just doesn't ramp up fast enough to justify me reading book number two. I hear this author is great, so don't take my work for it, but I'm the kind of guy who wants explosions and fights in his movies too. No romantic novels for me please. I stick to my rating, but the Fantasy Community does say this author is a good one. One person found this helpful...
